Frequently asked questions
Mainly two (2) things!
i. Create a 6-minute video about a Wira whose story moves you— someone whose actions deserve to be seen and heard by more people.
ii. Write a 200-word summary explaining how your Wira’s cause connects to one or two SDGs.
Most of our past participants joined in groups, but it's totally up to you!
Go solo if you prefer working on your own or gather a team if you enjoy bouncing ideas around (no minimum or maximum team size).
Absolutely! Students from different backgrounds can make your project more diverse and interesting.
Everyone just needs to be from the same university/IHL.
Nope! Don’t worry if this is your first time~ We.R.Wira is about telling a great story in a meaningful way. Think of this as your first step to becoming a purposeful storyteller.
Just go for it!
Getting Ready
Frequently asked questions
Your Wira or unsung hero is a changemaker! Whether it’s for people, animals or the planet, they’re out there making a real difference.
Not sure how to spot one or bring their story to life?
Our workshop video [link to be inserted] has you covered. It'll show you how to find your Wira, link their stories to an SDG and other useful tips and tricks to make your entry stand out.
If you’re looking for inspiration, you can also check out Wiki Impact or scroll through Facebook (you’ll be surprised how many groups and projects are out there!)
Yep, you can! But... We don’t recommend picking a family member or friend. Finding someone outside your immediate circle encourages you to interact with new people, expand your search, and collaborate for common goals— it's all part of the We.R.Wira experience and we don’t want you to miss out on that!
That shouldn’t be a problem!
Regardless if another team picks the same Wira, your angle, emotions and storytelling style are what make your story unique.
After all, We.R.Wira is a storytelling competition (hehe).
Finding Your Wira
Frequently asked questions
We’re sticking with Season 3’s theme: the 17 UN SDGs (any of it).
And just to clarify: the SDGs on our website are the ones We.R.Wira aligns with, NOT the “only acceptable SDGs” or some secret bonus-point list, okay? Feel free to explore any of the 17 that genuinely match your Wira’s story: https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/sustainable-development-goals/
Keep it natural! Ask yourself things about your Wira like:
Who are they helping?
What problem are they trying to solve?
What positive change can come from their actions?
Once you know that, matching it to an SDG is honestly the easy part. Think of it as connecting the dots, not forcing the puzzle to fit. And if you want to really get the hang of it, make sure to watch our workshop video [link to be inserted]— we break everything down in a super easy way for you.
A good story is all about how you tell it.
This is a storytelling competition, so creativity, thoughtfulness and effort come first. Judges want to see your Wira’s story framed in a way that moves people— something that inspires others to notice their impact or take small positive actions.
Technical quality like visuals and sound matter too, in terms of supporting your story. No worries, we're not expecting Astro Shaw production, but give it the best you can!
Bottom line: tell a story that’s authentic, inspiring and full of heart— one that inspires the changemaker in all of us.
